As a psychotherapist and coach, I work with so many incredible women who consistently sacrifice their own self-care, desires and hopes in their heartfelt wish to give their children what they didn’t quite get themselves. I’ve seen the amazing transformation that occurs when they’re empowered with the tools and experiences to shift and change these patterns.
I believe it’s time to be really honest about the realities of parenting, and that’s why I created this interview series. This is NOT just another laundry list of “how-to” parenting skills that sound good on paper but never work in real life. Instead, this is REAL talk about REAL parenting – conversations that will help you step into a whole new understanding and paradigm of what parenting is and how to use it to benefit yourself and your whole family.

Annie is an Integrative NeuroStructural Therapist and Consultant in Nashville, TN. She began as a neurological therapist after her eldest son was brain-inured by pharmaceutical medications (he is now fully recovered). As she learned more about the interweaving of the systems of the body and how they need to heal in a cohesive and connected way, she then pursued bodywork and NST specifically, as a way to help the whole person heal from the nervous system out.
Annie’s perspective on health and wellbeing is that the human person is comprised of multiple, interwoven aspects including (but not limited to): physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, musical, creative, loving/giving/serving… As such, all of these components are connected, communicating and vital to the health and wellbeing of every person. Both as a therapist and a consultant, Annie uses her model to help each client find the unique and sustainable combination of therapies, resources and self-care that will best serve them.
While she does treat clients with simple injuries; her personal and professional experience and training have led her to specialize in treating, supporting and consulting for clients with more complex and chronic illness, anxiety, PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury and Combat Trauma.
